Terrans are those who are from Terra (Earth).
Just think of yourself as somebody visiting Terra (Earth) from outer space, you might consider any life form (animal, plant) as Terran. One thing that all of us can say about ourselves is that we are Terran (or earthlings if you prefer). No matter what other grouping we are considered, it is true ... all of us are Terrans.
You might want to also consider other animals as Terrans. Humans may be the most advanced (of Terran animals), but, with our still having wars, fights, and focusing on differences like skin color, origin, sexual whatever, our societies are not advanced..
[OPINION] We should protect and take care of those who have less than we do ... as individuals and as a society, and that includes other Terran animals. Kinda like we are supposed to do for our family and kids. And how many already do with cats, dogs, birds, or others that we call pets or family.
The more Terrans are satisfied with their lives, with low anxiety, the safer and more productive for society for all. Think about it.
